History abound here in County Donegal and can clearly be seen in the many monuments and castle ruins found here. Some have been restored such as Doe castle and Lough Eske Castle which now forms part of a beautiful hotel called Solis Lough Eske Castle Hotel. Others such as Glenveagh are more modern being built during the 1800's. Raphoe Castle was built in the 1700's as the episcopal palace.
