The Peninsulas of Donegal express a mixture of bog, hill and pastureland, the ancient walls, remnants of cattle enclosures, and the various evidences of fortification. Scattered around their coastlines are many of the more than 100 sandy beaches to be found in the county. Slieve League boasts the highest sea cliffs in Europe, rising some 600m above the shoreline on Donegal Bay. They provide many outdoor activities incuding Mountain and Hill Walking, sea angling, golfing and much more. |
